Why barcodes still win over RFID tags? 1. RFID need more Infrastructure than barcode is RFID required large investment in terms of tags, reader, software resources to complete replace barcodes and to purchase high-tech RFID hardware and software to efficiently manage inventory. 2. Barcodes don?t have material limitations unlike RFID are tags radio waves might not precise as accurately reading each barcode. 3. RFID require mor many for implementation. 4. Barcode provide more accuracy and efficiency while scanning multiple items are accuracy falls when you try to scan multiple tags at a time with an RFID scanner and barcode are scanned individually, making based on brand and price. 4. Barcodes are more widely used in tracking method are many business use barcodes as preferred tracking method since they not necessary infrastructure to support RFID system. 6. Lack of privacy are possible to important information without being noticed they hack into RFID network or even just reader. Barcodes does not any network or frequency system which make them more secure than RFID tags. Barcode reading is time-consuming as each tag must be scanned separately.
