Barcode Comes in different sizes and shapes. When choosing barcode labels for a particular application, consider the shape. Size and shape of barcode labels should be chosen based on the application's specific requirements, including the amount of data to encode, available space on the product or packaging, and the shape of the product or packaging. Barcode labels range in size from as small as 0.25 by 0.25 inches to as large as 8.5 by 11 inches. Ideal size for a barcode label depends on the data to encode and the space available on the product or packaging. Barcode labels need strong, durable adhesives to securely attach to various surfaces. Different adhesives can be selected based on the surface material, such as permanent adhesive for smooth surfaces or removable types for delicate surfaces. Specialty adhesives are also available to withstand extreme temperatures, moisture, and chemicals. Barcode labels are made from paper, synthetic materials, or metal, with paper being the most common and suitable for most uses. Synthetic labels offer greater durability and moisture, chemicals, and tearing resistance. Metal barcode labels withstand harsh industrial andmanufacturing environments. To ensure accurate scanning, barcode labels should always have the barcode itself printed in black or a dark colour. However, the rest of the labels can be printed in different colours to increase visibility or differentiate products or shipments. Barcode labels can be printed in roll or sheet formats to meet application requirements. Rolls work best for high-volume needs, whereas sheets suit low-volume applications. In manufacturing, pallets must have labels on two adjacent sides: the long side to the right of the short side, and the short side itself. However, no regulation specifies the label position - whether left, centre or right - on those sides.
